The Oxonian Society

The Oxonian Society® is dedicated to provocative discussion and debate with the world's best and most interesting minds, and is a Manhattan-based non-partisan non-profit organization. The Society is open to people of all educational backgrounds and experiences. By connecting great leaders and thinkers with a highly intelligent, motivated, experienced and well-networked audience, the Society hopes to play a small role in shaping the great debates of our generation. The Society is committed to providing access to this generation's leaders and great thinkers in hopes that we can inspire the next. Very few other institutions provide a forum for a truly free flow of dialogue and information and attract such a diverse set of world-class speakers.

Like many great things, the Society operates on a simple formula. Typical early evening events see A-list guests present unedited views and commentary on a subject of their choosing; members and guests then engage with the invited speaker in Q&A dialogue.  Members mingle and socialize before and after.  From time to time the Society also holds mixers, and there is an annual Gala dinner -- the last three years the guests of honor were Sir Roger Moore, KBE, aka James Bond, the former British Prime Minister John Major and Conan O’Brien

Recent guest speakers have ranged from Jon Stewart to James Earl Jones to General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to Mia Farrow.  Whether the subject is the arts, politics, pop culture, film and television, music, national and global affairs, defense, health, science, sport, religion, or something else, the outcome is engaging, provocative, and fun. The Society offers a range and depth of events that cannot be found anywhere else in the New York area. A short online video of the Society's events, programming, and A-list speakers can be viewed here.

Our membership is as diverse as our speakers -- which is part of the Oxonian Society® experience.  Academics, artists, professionals, students, political figures, business leaders, not for profit advocates -- those are just a few of the categories of our members, who defy categorization.

Each year the Society holds a series of mixers designed to allow existing members to introduce others to the Society, encourage individuals to learn more about the Society and promote interaction among the Society's members.

The Society prides itself on being an organization easily accessible to new members from a diverse set of academic, professional and personal backgrounds.  To join today click on Application.jpg.
