In addition to hearing Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez speak, each paid attendee will receive the speakers’ new hardcover book, Along the Way. While much has been written over the years about this prominent entertainment family, neither Martin Sheen nor Emilio Estevez has told their father-son story together and in person before. At their appearance at the Hudson Union Society, they will offer a striking, often stirring, frequently funny account of their lives as fathers and sons, often set against the background of Hollywood.
The speakers will recount scenes from their travels and their creative work together, including their adventures along the Camino de Santiago for their most recent movie, The Way, and their profound ties to Spain, where Martin’s father was born and Emilio’s son now lives. They will also discuss their two very different kinds of faith in distinctive, eloquent voices. Attendees will recognize as universal their father-son rebellions, regrets, aspirations, and triumphs.
